ACT Announces Testing News
Today's announcement takes effect September 2020
Tue, Oct 8th 2019 09:00 am
ACT announced today that they will offer three new testing policies starting in Fall of 2020. The test content itself is not changing, but they will begin to offer:
- online testing in selected test centers
- individual section retesting
- superscore reporting
The online testing option will present several logistical issues for high schools that are test centers, so the ACT will need to provide more detail about that plan. One significant difference will be that scores would be available within just two days.
The individual section retesting option will allow students to overcome a low subtest score by repeating that section without redoing an entire test.
With the superscore reporting option, ACT will report to colleges a student's best individual subtest scores, even if they occurred on different test dates.
