Standardized Testing News

The test-optional movement, which began as a trickle several years ago and exploded in popularity during the pandemic, is showing the first sign of receding. Yesterday, Dartmouth College announced it will “reactivate the standardized testing requirement for undergraduate admission beginning with applicants to the Class of 2029.” Their internal research “found that high school grades paired with standardized testing are the most reliable indicators for success.” Whenever a major player in the world of admissions makes a significant policy change, many other schools follow.
